From June 8-11, 2012, in Susice (Czech Republic), and then from June 11-14, 2012, in Chojna, the "Focus on Women" project was implemented as part of the "Youth in Action" program – Action 1.2 International Initiatives, funded by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System. The project was implemented by the "Douzelage" European Club at ZSP No. 1 in Chojna and a youth group from the Susice Town Twinning Association. The main goals of the project were to research and understand the situation of women in local communities in both the Czech Republic and Poland, to counteract discrimination, and to promote gender equality.

The project partners carried out many activities, including: research on the situation of women in the context of unemployment and social problems, interviews and meetings with successful women, and a photo exhibition presenting successful women.

Interviews were conducted with women who, according to the young people, have achieved success and are role models for young people: Ms. Wiesława Glińska, Vice-President of the Gryfino University of the Third Age; Ms. Gabriela Kotowicz, Chairwoman of the Gryfino District Council; and Ms. Alicja Kałużniak, Village Head of Rosnowo. Young people met with Ms. Dorota Dobak-Hadrzyńska, a well-known poet from Chojnice, and Ms. Bogna Czałczyńska, a representative of the Congress of Women from the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The project program was implemented simultaneously in Poland and the Czech Republic and included similar activities. As part of additional activities carried out by the Polish group, a conference organized in Warsaw by the National Agency of the Youth in Action program, in which the youth project coordinator Kacper Birger participated; journalism workshops were conducted under the supervision of Mr. R. Rzepczak, a journalist from Kurier Szczeciński; Project participants had the unique opportunity to meet with Ms. Henryka Krzywonos, an opposition activist from the communist era, who considers raising twelve foster children in her family her greatest success. To celebrate Women's Day, Polish project participants prepared a holiday-themed promotional leaflet, which they distributed to women on their special day.

During the Czech group's stay in Chojna, a photography exhibition entitled "Successful Women" opened. Preparing the exhibition was a major undertaking, successfully completed by Joanna Szymkowiak, a student from the 1st grade of Secondary School at ZSP No. 1 in Chojna. The exhibition featured portraits of 20 women who, from the students' perspective, achieved significant success, not just professionally.
